Which 1990's Subculture Do You Belong To?
[Another Quiz by Kris @ couplandesque.net]
I gave blood today. My blood pressure was low, and it was vahry cold, so it took forever. Got fussed over because I went pale. Ho-hum.
I bought batteries for my minidisc. This is good. I have been listening to my 'Rawk!' compilation in-between reading Lolita, and Dimmu Borgir do indeed rock. |

[Feb. 16th, 2004|04:34 pm] |
That many people make me feel sad, often through no fault of their own.
That many people don't like Nazi imagery, associating it as they do with the belief system, rather than the promotional propaganda tool it is.
That two Sunday dinners make me feel very fat indeed.
That the introduction of a breast into the conversation can really liven things up.
That 30 pages in, 'Lolita' is now contending for the 'best book I've ever read' award.
That Nationwide Building Society are bad, bad people and make mr_fil a very unhappy person. And a very poor person, too. Not that the two are inextricably linked, or anything...
That I really need to buy Gitaroo Man for the PS2, despite money problems.
That I still cannot cry. |

| | Nirvana, 'Nevermind' | ] | Yeah, so I have a favour to ask. Could any of you student peeps with time on your hands, or work slackers with net access go looking for archive news material, from before May 2003 (i.e. before Gilligan's Today program allegations/truths), that categorically states that the 45-minute claim from the Government referred to Long-range wmd's?
Sorry if I've missed any fall-out from the new Geoff Hoon debacle (apologies for the bad-taste pun, as well), but the only news I've seen today is his interview on BBC Breakfast. Basically, for those who don't know, he's completely denied any wrongdoing (obviously) and said the public never knew about the 45 minute claim referring to any long-range weapons, until Gilligan.
Hence my request. If I can read a newspaper article from between September 2002 and May 2003, that refers to Hussein's long-range wmd capability and how the govt is using that threat in the propaganda war, then I am afforded the opportunity to laugh at Hoon. I would look myself, but can't really afford to trawl the web at work :(
Alternatively, just give me the breaking news that Hoon has been sacked, Blair has been ousted and Boris Jonston, newly defected to the Lib Dems, is the new PM :) |

Your project for the day - I've just done a pop quiz for colleague's daughter's a-level coursework (hope the apostrophe's are in the right place), on attitudes to animal testing / fox hunting. Gah. Realised how ill-informed I am on the subject, and how I need to hear some opinions in order to form my own.
In other news, I made the front page. OK, it was co-written and I didn't get a byline as they're afraid of getting sued, but Woo!
More later, if the interweb is fixed at home. |

I need to find a venue, of medium-ish size. Any night'll do, not just a friday or saturday - i thought i could do it at mine, but don't think it'd work logistically.
Basically, i need to raise shedloads of cash for charity and was thinking (hoping?) i could organise some kind of live music / entertainments evening, not too dissimilar to, say, everfink.
Now, this idea relies both on the generosity of many people to spare a few quids and pay an entrance fee, and the renting of somewhere (and suitable noise making equipment) for very few pounds. A long shot, i know, especially given the fact that i have neither the necessary charisma or general promotional skills for this kind of thing.
The alternative is (with jozafeen's permission) to walk around fink with a smile and a big bucket. Thing is, i'm not as attractive as caf_pow... Also, i don't know if she wants fink associated with charity appeals; finkers being emotionally blackmailed into giving all their small change to a (alebeit good) cause isn't great for business :)
This would also work alongside an (as yet undecided) themed evening - hopefully at mine with delanthear's permission - where i could hopefully milk my friends for more than i morally should.
Am getting the feeling that if i can't get some serious plans in place by this weekend, i'll be forced to call the whole thing off and let several people down, including the charity. |

This, I think, is a good thing. Requires more thinking to get to the bottom of it though.
For the moment, however, I shall feel smug in having sent off a winning application. And that was nothing to do with waving a magic rat over it, nooo. |

I'm after a digital camera, mainly for iceland this summer but i figured new year = sales = cheapcheap. And i get to know how to use it before i go, which is good.
Anyway, MP+++, LCD screen, enough memory to shake a poky stick at (80/100 pics sounds good, especially if i can delete the ones i don't like via cunning use of the lcd screen...).
Ideas on reliable suppliers? Argos have a special offer on all digi cameras, with money off sd cards too (woo! what does that mean?); but argos are evil people. |
